Dongfeng Motor General Manager Feng Changjun traveled to Shenzhen on Sept. 22 to meet with Huawei founder Ren Zhengfei and senior company representatives, the automaker announced on its official WeChat account.

Discussions centered on jointly developed strategic models including the EJV X9, Mengshi X700 and Voyah Dreamer 9, as well as deeper collaboration on future product definition, intelligent technology implementation and marketing strategies. Ren Zhengfei praised Dongfeng's strong automotive heritage and emphasized Huawei's role as a technology partner that does not manufacture vehicles itself but aims to help automakers build better cars through its intelligent systems expertise. Feng Changjun confirmed the partnership would continue to deepen, with both sides targeting next-generation smart vehicles and mobility solutions.

His visit came just days after Huawei and Seres restructured their cooperation model on Sept. 15, making Feng the first auto executive to publicly visit Ren Zhengfei under the new arrangement.

JAC Reaffirms Commitment as Stock Surges

At a delivery ceremony for the Zunjie S800 in Anhui on Sept. 16, Ji'ang (JAC) executive Xingchu publicly committed to building and selling quality vehicles alongside Huawei and its supply chain partners. He stressed that JAC's long-term investment in the ultra-luxury segment would continue, with plans to expand the Zunjie lineup into SUVs and sport-luxury categories.

The comments sent JAC Motor shares surging to a daily limit-up on Sept. 22, closing at 21.32 yuan per share, a 10.01 percent gain, with market capitalization reaching approximately 48.06 billion yuan (approx. $6.68 billion).

BAIC: Cooperation Model Unchanged, Exclusive Channels Rolling Out

BAIC Blue Valley stated in an investor relations document on Sept. 20 that its partnership with Huawei remains anchored in the "automaker plus Huawei technology ecosystem" strategic model, unchanged since the AITO Stelato S9T launched earlier this year. The Stelato brand continues to operate as a co-developed premium label between BAIC and Huawei.

BAIC also confirmed the Huawei-backed HarmonyOS-based Stelato dedicated sales channel network is progressing as planned, with several stores and customer service centers already operational in China this year.

SAIC: Deepening Shangjie Collaboration Amid Marketing Shifts

Multiple industry outlets reported on Sept. 23 that SAIC Group plans to further strengthen coordination with Huawei's consumer division on the Shangjie brand, committing deeper resource investment while maintaining the existing partnership model. Around the same time, reports indicated that SAIC-Huawei cooperation leadership underwent marketing restructuring, with Li Jun, formerly head of marketing for the Volkswagen and Skoda brands at SAIC Volkswagen, expected to take over Shangjie marketing responsibilities.

Voyah: "Complementary Strengths" Approach

Shao Mingfeng, CBO and sales general manager of Voyah, described the ideal Huawei-Voyah partnership as a strong-strong alliance built on mutual respect. "Huawei's Qiankun driver-assist system and Voyah's vehicle manufacturing expertise are a natural fit — and our distinct corporate values make the collaboration more resilient," he said.

Across all four automakers, the core message is consistent: despite adjustments to specific cooperation frameworks, deep alignment with Huawei's intelligent-vehicle ambitions remains intact.
