Hyundai Ioniq V to launch in China on September 29 as first China-tailored EV sedan

Hyundai has set September 29 as the official launch date for the Ioniq V in China, marking the Korean automaker's first electric sedan developed specifically for the Chinese market. Pre-sales opened in August, with prices starting at approx. $16,653 (China market 119,900 RMB).

The Ioniq V represents a strategic push by Hyundai to compete in China's fiercely contested EV segment, where domestic brands dominate and price competition remains intense. By tailoring the vehicle specifically for Chinese consumers, Hyundai aims to offer features and pricing that align with local preferences rather than relying on a global model.
