The milestone came in the form of a BMW M3 finished in the brand's exclusive Flame Orange III paint, marking the 100,000th M-model to roll off the Munich plant's production line.

The factory will now pivot to become the production base for the first all-electric BMW M3, a move that underscores the brand's accelerating shift toward electrification even within its highest-performance division.

From prototype spy imagery, the front end retains M-series signature yellow headlights and square lower lamp clusters, with a raised hood featuring ventilation openings to accommodate cooling for the electric drive system. The front fascia appears more restrained and practical compared to the concept car shown previously.

The side profile reveals hidden door handles, flared wheel arches that emphasize the muscular stance typical of M-badged cars, and large multi-spoke alloy wheels.

  • Rear design features two slim, independently shaped taillights
  • Square track-style lamps positioned at each corner of the tailgate
  • A large rear diffuser enhances aerodynamic efficiency

Beneath the camouflage, the prototype is built on BMW's Neue Klasse platform, featuring a quad-motor all-wheel-drive architecture that mirrors the power distribution strategy of previous M models but with instantaneous torque delivery across all four wheels.

Official power output figures remain unconfirmed, but industry rumors suggest certain performance variants could exceed 1,000 horsepower, placing the all-electric M3 firmly in supercar territory.

The all-electric BMW M3 is expected to debut publicly in 2027, with production beginning the same year at the Munich plant. While BMW has not yet announced a formal delivery timeline, early customers may receive their vehicles before the end of 2027.

The 100,000-unit milestone highlights the enduring appeal of BMW's M division, which has produced some of the most iconic performance cars since the 1970s, including the legendary M3 that first appeared in 1986.

This latest chapter marks a significant turning point as BMW transitions its halo performance model from internal combustion to full electric power, a move that will reshape the sports sedan landscape globally.
