Chinese EV maker NIO announced on October 3 that its cumulative charging service volume has officially surpassed 100 million sessions, marking a significant milestone for the company's public charging network.

According to NIO, 86.67% of the charging energy delivered at its stations served non-NIO brand electric vehicles, underscoring how the company's charging infrastructure has become an open resource for the broader NEV market rather than a closed ecosystem exclusive to its own cars.

So far, NIO has built 9,522 charge-and-swap stations across China, with total charge-and-swap service sessions exceeding 220 million. Breaking the figures down, the 5,361 dedicated charging stations are equipped with 30,892 charging piles and have completed over 100 million charging services, while the 4,161 battery swap stations have facilitated more than 126 million swap operations.

The company stated that its "chargeable, swap-able, and upgradeable" energy service system has reached scale, with station coverage and density continuing to expand, bringing user refueling convenience closer to the experience of traditional internal combustion engine vehicles.

During the recent National Day holiday travel peak, NIO's charging and swap network operated around the clock to support users traveling home or on road trips, the company said.
