Roewe Jiayue 07 Surpasses 30,000 Pre-Orders, Debuts Doubao Cockpit Assistant

SAIC Roewe announced Oct. 5 that its Jiayue 07 mid-size SUV has already drawn more than 30,000 reservation orders in just two weeks since pre-sales opened on Sept. 21.

The Jiayue 07 is notable as the first production vehicle to feature Doubao, ByteDance's conversational AI, integrated directly into the cabin. The co-developed system pairs with Momenta R7 driver-assistance hardware and brings personality-driven responses, Face ID account recognition, Doubao app linkage, and multi-language and dialect voice support to the vehicle interface.

Three trims are available at pre-sale prices of approx. $19,139–$21,222 (China market 137,800–152,800 RMB). The mid-size SUV measures 4,900/1,910/1,745(1,753) mm overall with a 2,908 mm wheelbase, seating five passengers and offering 834 liters of cargo volume.

Under the skin, the Jiayue 07 uses a 1.5 L range-extender powertrain. The extender motor produces 72 kW, while the rear traction motor delivers 162 kW. CATL supplies two battery options — 32.6 kWh and 44.2 kWh — providing CLTC pure-electric ranges of 220 km and 320 km respectively. Fast charging from 30% to 80% SOC takes roughly 15 minutes, and the combined CLTC range reaches 1,480 km. WLTC depleted-battery fuel consumption is rated at 5.19 L/100 km, with a top speed of 180 km/h.

Exterior styling was led by Joseph Cabane, SAIC Motor's global vice president of design and former design director at Rolls-Royce and BMW. The front fascia features an integrated full-width "star-chain" LED light bar measuring 2.24 meters, incorporating nearly 3,000 individually placed sculpted elements. A LiDAR unit sits atop the roof, supporting the Level 2+ driving aids.

Inside, the cabin centers on a 15.6-inch floating touchscreen paired with a fully digital instrument cluster and an electronic column shifter. Equipment spans dual zero-gravity front seats with heating, ventilation and massage; a rear 15.6-inch ceiling-mounted display; a 20-speaker audio system; a 7.5 L front refrigerator; rear seats with 143-degree electric recline, heating and ventilation; a dedicated front-passenger vanity mirror; and a 50 W wireless charging pad.

The Momenta R7 ADAS suite relies on an XHEART X7 neural-processing chip, one LiDAR, 11 cameras, 12 ultrasonic sensors and one millimeter-wave radar, enabling highway and urban navigation assist as well as full-scenario automated parking.

Six exterior colors — Dragon Crystal Purple, Agate Grey, Sapphire Blue, Pearl Creek Black, Diamond White and Jade Green — are offered.
