Li Auto MEGA Refresh: Single Trim, $70,800, Rear-Wheel Steering and 4 LiDARs Standard
Li Auto has relaunched the MEGA MPV as a single 'Home' trim at approx. $70,806, adding rear-wheel steering, steering-by-wire, 4 LiDARs and a 108kWh 5C battery while dropping the price by roughly $7,000 versus the outgoing model.

Li Auto has launched the next-generation MEGA electric MPV as a single trim level, priced at 509,800 yuan (approx. $70,806). Deliveries begin this week, the company announced on Sept. 2.
The MEGA Home is the only variant available. Compared with the outgoing MEGA Home Family Edition, which carried a 559,800-yuan (approx. $77,750) sticker, the refreshed model adds features including steering-by-wire, rear-wheel steering, an 800V active anti-roll bar, dual Mach M100 smart-cockpit chips and four LiDAR sensors — and cuts the price by 50,000 yuan (approx. $6,944). It also undercuts the previous entry-level MEGA by 20,000 yuan.
The sole optional add-on is a 270-degree electrochromic glass package covering the rear side windows and rear windshield, totaling 2.5 square metres, priced at 15,000 yuan (approx. $2,083). Existing Li Auto owners who purchase this new version receive the glass free of charge.
Dimensions and exterior updates
The new MEGA measures 5,355 by 1,965 by 1,850 mm with a 3,300 mm wheelbase, maintaining the same 2+2+3 seven-seat layout as before. Length increased by just 5 mm; width, height and wheelbase are unchanged. The signature teardrop silhouette and a drag coefficient of 0.215 carry over.
Up front, ADB matrix headlights replace the previous units, delivering 40 percent more illumination. The rear window is larger, the tailgate profile and rear bumper have been revised, and a new "MEGA Home" badge adorns the tailgate. Two UFO-style wheel designs are offered, with a matching white-and-white look available for the panda-white body.
Interior and comfort focus
Inside, the headline upgrade is a ceiling-mounted "Home Light"客厅主灯 positioned above the second row. It contains 396 LEDs at a warm 3,500K colour temperature with adjustable brightness, and a starlight ambient feature glows behind it when the main lamp is off. Three independent panoramic sunroofs and five electric sunshades are spread across the cabin.
All three rows feature zero-gravity seats with heating and ventilation; the second row adds a floating cushion in diamond-quilted Nappa leather with independent soft and support zones. Each second-row seat includes head, lumbar and leg pillows — the head and leg pillows heat and vent — plus 18-point hot-stone massage. In total, 31 heated positions are distributed across the steering wheel, seats, headrests, leg rests and armrests.
Second-row motorized tables auto-open and self-level via an eight-gear mechanism that tracks backrest angle changes. A fold-out dining table option spans the second and third rows when deployed.
Chassis and dynamics
Li Auto has redesigned the rear axle and added standard steering-by-wire and rear-wheel steering. Minimum turning radius shrinks to 5.5 metres from 6.2, and the system feeds path-planning data into automated parking.
The MEGA also debuts an 800V active anti-roll bar integrated into a dual-chamber air-spring and dual-valve CDC damper setup. The active bar reacts in 30 milliseconds to counter body roll during cornering or lane changes — aimed at reducing the left-right sway that makes rear passengers motion-sick rather than purely boosting handling. An "elephant welcome" function lowers the vehicle toward an open door by 30 mm in 1.5 seconds and rotates the second-row seat outward 45 degrees for easier boarding.
Battery, power and charging
Power comes from dual motors producing 413 kW combined (155 kW front, 258 kW rear), up 13 kW over the prior version. Top speed is rated at 200 km/h. The 108 kWh ternary lithium 5C battery delivers a CLTC range of 710 km and supports 800V ultra-fast charging. At a Li Auto 5C station, adding 500 km of range takes roughly 10 minutes.
Cockpit and smart driving
The cabin runs on a Qualcomm SA8797P chip. Front passengers get a new 29-inch 6K OLED panoramic display spanning both driver and front-passenger areas, a first for the MEGA. Rear occupants use a 21-inch 4K OLED touch screen that slides forward or backward to accommodate child users. Audio duties fall to a 9.3.6-channel Star Ring Theatre system peaking at 5,440 W.
Intelligent driving hardware received the biggest overhaul. The new MEGA standardizes Li Auto's dual Mach M100 smart-driving chipset with four solid-state LiDAR units — two additional side/rear sensors flanking the previous single front unit — enabling surround perception. Software runs Li Auto's latest Mach VLA model, supporting highway and urban navigation assist, automated parking and active safety functions. The extra lateral and rearward LiDARs specifically target narrow underground garages, sliding-door manoeuvres, parallel parking and low rear obstacles.
Global expansion
A right-hand-drive variant will launch in Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore and Thailand later this year. Li Auto says the refreshed MEGA now addresses the three most-cited owner concerns — ADAS capability, big-MPV manoeuvrability and interior luxury — while pricing below the previous entry-level figure.
