Xinghai V6 Debuts With Huawei Smart Driving at 100,000-Yuan Price Point

Dongfeng Fengxing (also known as Foton Motor under Dongfeng) officially launched the Xinghai V6 on September 19, bringing Huawei's Qiankun ADS 5.0 intelligent driving system to the sub-100,000 yuan segment for the first time. The pre-sale price started at approximately $14,569 (104,900 RMB), with the official launch price confirmed at around $14,694 (105,800 RMB).

The V6 is a product of the collaboration between Dongfeng Fengxing and Huawei, aiming to fill a gap in the market for affordable smart-driving large six-seat vehicles. Prior to launch, the model conducted a promotional tour across six Chinese cities — Chengdu, Liuzhou, Nantong, Zhoukou, Shenyang, and Taiyuan.

Key Specifications

The Xinghai V6 measures 4,835×1,900×1,755 mm with a wheelbase of 2,900 mm. It features a 2+2+2 six-seat layout with a fold-flat third row, creating up to 1.63 square meters of flat cargo space. A seven-seat variant is also available. The vehicle boasts a drag coefficient of just 0.269 Cd.

Under the hood, the V6 is equipped with a 60.5 kWh battery pack delivering a real-world range of 510 km. Energy consumption in urban driving is rated at 11.8 kWh per 100 km. The car supports both fast charging and 6.6 kW vehicle-to-load (V2L) output.

Intelligent Driving System

The V6 is the only vehicle in its price segment to feature Huawei's Qiankun ADS 5.0. The system uses 10 cameras, 12 ultrasonic radars, and 3 millimeter-wave radars, integrated with Huawei's self-developed MDC computing platform. It provides highway navigation assist (NCA), urban lane cruise control (LCC+), comprehensive parking assistance, and CAS 5.0 active safety protection.

Testing and Validation

As of late August 2026, Dongfeng Fengxing had deployed over 518 test vehicles for the Xinghai V6, accumulating more than 2.8 million kilometers of road testing. In July 2026, the vehicle underwent extreme-temperature testing in Turpan, Xinjiang, where ambient temperatures exceeded 50°C and ground temperatures reached 75°C. The V6 passed tests for cabin environment, continuous power delivery, high-load performance, rapid charging, and battery thermal management. After six hours of sealed暴晒 exposure, interior formaldehyde levels measured just 0.023 mg/m³ — over four times better than the national standard.

In August, the V6 passed a series of safety challenges including loaded curb strikes, underbody scraping, wading, and post-wading charging, earning the 2026 TOP Electric Safety Performance Certification.

The Xinghai V6 launch marks a significant move by Huawei to popularize its intelligent driving technology in the mass-market segment, competing with other affordable EVs now offering advanced driver assistance systems.
