BYD's Ocean Network division has announced the customization color lineup for the Sea Lion 08, a mid-to-large SUV positioned as the brand's "ocean flagship." The reveal came on August 14, ahead of the vehicle's expected market launch in August.
The Sea Lion 08 offers two two-tone schemes — Frost Jade Silver paired with Poseidon Green, and Frost Jade Silver combined with Sea Fog Purple — along with five single-color options: Frost Jade Silver, Poseidon Green, Sea Fog Purple, Obsidian Black, and Starry Gray. Interior appointments come in Light Cloud White or Frozen Night Purple.

The Sea Lion 08 made its global debut at the Beijing Auto Show in April. It rides on BYD's second-generation Blade Battery platform and features the brand's flash-charging technology, YunNian-A intelligent air body control system, rear-wheel steering, and the TianShen Eye 5.0 advanced driver-assistance suite.
Dimensionally, the vehicle measures 5,115mm in length, 1,999mm in width, and 1,800mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,030mm, positioning it firmly in the mid-to-large SUV segment.
Powertrain options span both pure electric and plug-in hybrid configurations. The BEV variant is offered with a single rear motor in low-power (320kW) and high-power (370kW) outputs, or a dual-motor setup delivering 215kW at the front and 370kW at the rear. The PHEV version pairs a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine rated at 115kW with dual motors producing 200kW each at the front and rear.
According to previously leaked information from BYD enthusiast channels, the fully electric model will offer range versions of approximately 800km and 900km, available in both five-seat and six-seat configurations.
The Sea Lion 08 entered blind reservation status earlier this year with a pre-sale price range of approx. $31,944–$38,889 (230,000–280,000 RMB). BYD has not yet confirmed an exact launch date beyond the August window.
