Mercedes-Benz has revealed select details of the long-wheelbase GLE SUV ahead of its global premiere at the 2026 Chengdu Auto Show.

The new model features a larger shield-shaped front grille and a redesigned LED daytime running light that incorporates the brand's trident star emblem. Buyers can choose from five exterior colors, including two newly introduced shades — Ink Jade Grey and Turquoise Green.

The most significant dimensional change is a wheelbase extension to 3,115 mm, translating into noticeably more rear-seat space. Rear occupants gain longer and thicker seat cushions, heated rear seats and headrests, and multi-point seat massage functionality.

On the technology front, the GLE long-wheelbase adopts the Momenta R6 large model for urban and highway driver assistance across China. A future OTA upgrade will position it as one of the first luxury internal-combustion vehicles to support Momenta's R7 world model, enabling what Mercedes calls a seamless "parking spot to parking spot" assisted driving experience.

The cabin also features a virtual assistant built around ByteDance's Doubao AI large model, along with a rear-seat smart entertainment system that recommends content based on passenger state. Gesture controls allow easy screen content sharing between displays with a simple hand wave.

Under the hood, the GLE long-wheelbase is powered by a 3.0-liter engine equipped with an electric supercharger as standard equipment. All versions come with Mercedes' 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system.
