Data Protection & Privacy
CarsEVs processes personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. The key points are summarized below: the types of cookies we use, the legal bases for processing, and your rights.
Types of cookies we use
| Type | What it does | Requires consent? |
|---|---|---|
| Necessary | Technically required to deliver the site, such as security and session cookies set by our hosting and CDN providers (e.g. Cloudflare). These cannot be switched off. | No |
| Analytics | Google Analytics 4 cookies (_ga, _ga_<id>) that tell us which articles are read, from where, and on which devices — so we can improve our coverage. |
Yes |
| Advertising | Google AdSense cookies used to show and measure ads and ad-click attribution across the web. Ads are served only after you accept advertising cookies via Google Consent Mode v2, and no advertising cookies are ever set without your permission. | Yes |
Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR Art. 6)
Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, we process personal data on the following legal bases:
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): Analytics and advertising cookies, and any newsletter subscription, are processed only with your freely given, specific, informed, and unambiguous consent. You can withdraw consent at any time via Cookie Settings in the footer of any page (or Customize on the consent banner).
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): Operating and securing the website, protecting against abuse and fraud, and understanding aggregate readership to improve our coverage. The technically necessary cookies described in the Privacy Policy (set by our hosting and CDN provider) are processed on this basis and do not require consent. We balance these interests against your rights and freedoms.
- Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)): Where we are required to retain or disclose data to comply with applicable law.
- Contract (Art. 6(1)(b)): Where you engage our services and performance of a contract requires processing.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you have rights over your personal data. We never sell your personal information.
If you are in the EU, EEA, or UK (GDPR / UK GDPR):
- Right of access (Art. 15)
- Right to rectification (Art. 16)
- Right to erasure — the "right to be forgotten" (Art. 17)
- Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18)
- Right to data portability (Art. 20)
- Right to object to processing, including processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21)
- Right not to be subject to automated decision-making (Art. 22)
- Right to withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal
- Right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection supervisory authority (for example, the UK Information Commissioner's Office or the authority in your country)
If you are in California (CCPA/CPRA):
- Right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose
- Right to request deletion of your personal information
- Right to correct inaccurate personal information
- Right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information — we do not sell or share your personal information, and we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes other than those permitted by law
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@carsevs.com.
International Data Transfers
Our site is hosted on Cloudflare's global network, and analytics are processed by Google (Google Analytics 4), which may involve transferring data to the United States and other countries. Where transfers occur from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we rely on the European Commission's adequacy decisions or on appropriate safeguards, including the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and Google's Data Processing Addendum.
Data Retention
We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in the Privacy Policy. Analytics data is retained by Google Analytics for a limited period (GA4 default retention is up to 14 months, after which it is automatically deleted). Your consent choice is stored on your own device under the carsevs-consent key and is never transmitted to or stored on our servers.
Children's Privacy
CarsEVs is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 16 (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction — 13 in the United States under COPPA). If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at hello@carsevs.com and we will delete it.
Disclaimer
Our content is for informational purposes only. While we strive for accuracy, we make no warranties about completeness or accuracy. Vehicle specifications, pricing, and availability change frequently. Always verify with manufacturers before making purchase decisions.

CarsEVs is not liable for any damages arising from use of our content, including but not limited to direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
Changes to Terms
We may update these terms periodically. Continued use constitutes acceptance of revised terms.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer under the GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, or other mandatory local laws, and EU/EEA/UK users may always raise data-protection complaints with their local supervisory authority.
