XPeng is preparing to launch two of its flagship SUVs — the GX and the G9L — in the Middle East next week, the company confirmed. The Middle Eastern market represents a key expansion battleground for the Chinese electric-vehicle maker, and the dual launch underscores its push across the Gulf region.
Official pricing for both models in Middle Eastern markets will be announced at the launch event. Pre-launch demand appears strong: orders for the GX in the region are already nearing 4,000 units, according to the company.
XPeng's physical retail presence has also grown significantly. The company reported that its total number of overseas showrooms and service outlets has now surpassed 1,200 locations worldwide, a figure that reflects the rapid pace of its international store rollout over the past year.
The GX and G9L join XPeng's existing portfolio in the Middle East, which includes the P7 sedan and G6 crossover. Both new models are positioned as premium offerings — the GX as a larger SUV aimed at families and the G9L as an extended-range variant targeting buyers seeking longer highway capabilities without range anxiety.
XPeng's Middle East Strategy
The company has been actively expanding across the Middle East, opening showrooms in key markets including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Kuwait. The region's growing appetite for Chinese EV brands has made it a priority for XPeng's overseas ambitions.
With pricing details expected at next week's launch, industry watchers will be closely tracking how XPeng positions the GX and G9L against competitors such as BYD, NIO, and Tesla in the region's increasingly competitive EV landscape.
