Luxeed RX Set to Open Pre-orders Aug 20 at HIMA Launch Event

Luxeed (Zhi Jie) has officially confirmed that its RX model will begin accepting pre-orders on August 20, with details revealed at the HIMA (HIMA) new-product launch event at 14:30 that day. The RX marks the first SUV in the Luxeed lineup to carry an "X" designation.

Dimensions and powertrain

According to Chinese regulatory filings, the RX measures 5,020 mm long, 2,007 mm wide and 1,600 or 1,585 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 3,000 mm. Powertrain choices include a single-motor variant producing 277 kW and a dual-motor version combining a 160 kW front motor with a 277 kW rear motor for a total output of 554 kW.

Key technology highlights

Huawei-backed features advertised for the RX include the company's next-generation giant-whale battery platform, a quad-laser-radar array and a full-chain redundant architecture designed to support higher levels of autonomous driving. The brand also says the RX introduces industry-first electromagnetic thermal-control die-casting technology.

In a separate announcement, HIMA revealed a new paint colour called Flash Butterfly Blue for the RX, which is expected to go on sale later this year.

Brand positioning

Luxeed has described the RX as a vehicle built "for the elite pioneers," emphasising that the brand will "compete on value, not price." Earlier test-mule sightings suggested the car has undergone several million kilometres of real-world driving.
