Chery iCAR V25 EREV SUV debuts with boxy design and Horizon AI

Chery has revealed the iCAR V25, the third model in its V-series lineup following the V23, confirmed to use a range-extended electric powertrain and target a market launch in the fourth quarter of 2025.

Design and dimensions

The V25 carries forward iCAR's signature "box" styling. Overall dimensions are 4,636mm (including the rear-mounted spare-tire/storage cover) by 1,920mm by 1,855mm, with a wheelbase of 2,820mm. Minimum ground clearance is 197mm, with approach and departure angles of 30° and 28°, and a longitudinal breakover angle of 17°.

The rear features an 88° wide-angle side-hinge tailgate and a 22.7L external "backpack" storage box. Five exterior colors are offered: white with an eight-layer pearl finish, black, silver, green, and matte grey.

Powertrain and range

Under the hood sits Chery's self-developed SQRH4J15 1.5-liter turbocharged engine used as a range extender, producing 115kW. Energy storage is a 33.67kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack. WLTC pure-electric range is available in two trims at 145km or 150km. Declared fuel consumption on empty battery is 6.9L/100km for the 145km version and 7.15L/100km for the 150km version.

Chery says the V25 will use a dual-motor all-wheel-drive layout. The chassis combines MacPherson independent struts up front with a five-link independent setup at the rear.

Intelligent driving hardware

Chery calls its ADAS offering "Super Lieying 700+". The system is built around a Horizon Journey 6P automotive-grade processor delivering 560 TOPS of computing power. A LiDAR unit is available as an option, enabling highway navigation assist, city NOA, and automated valet parking features.
