Zero Run chairman Zhu Jiangming said the company has moved past its most challenging phase and is now in a period of growth and optimism, describing the current stage as "somewhat enjoyable" after the ups and downs of the past.

Confidence in Annual Target

Zhu stated that Zero Run is approaching its peak and aims to achieve higher goals, despite headwinds including declining industry-wide sales and rising material costs creating pressure on margins.

In mid-July, Zero Run senior vice president Xu Jun confirmed the company would not revise its annual delivery target of one million units and pledged to get as close as possible to it in the second half of the year. Senior VP Cao Li echoed the confidence, saying the target remains achievable.

July Deliveries Break Through

Zero Run delivered 101,267 vehicles globally in July, a year-on-year increase of 102%, making it the first new-energy maker to surpass 100,000 units in a single month. The milestone underscores the brand's rapid scaling despite a tough competitive landscape.

Industry Outlook

Zhu Jiangming has previously commented on the broader market, stating that the domestic Chinese EV market can only sustain a fraction of the 17 current automakers pursuing electrification, and that plug-in hybrid and range-extended models will continue to find demand as China's electrification trend accelerates.
