NIO has announced that its ES9 flagship SUV completed its 30,000th vehicle delivery, setting a new benchmark for fast production ramp-up in China's premium electric vehicle market.

The ES9 began customer deliveries on May 28, 2026. It took just 119 days — roughly four months — to cross the 30,000-unit threshold, marking the quickest delivery pace recorded for a pure electric SUV positioned above 500,000 RMB (approx. $69,444) in China.

Market Performance Strong in Key Region

Terminal sales data released by NIO shows the ES9 captured 24% of the total market share in the 500,000 RMB+ price segment across the Yangtze River Delta region in August 2026. In practical terms, one in every four premium vehicles sold in that tier was an ES9.

The Yangtze River Delta — encompassing Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui provinces — remains one of China's most competitive and highest-volume auto markets, making the ES9's performance there particularly significant for global investors tracking NIO's trajectory.

Pure Electric Reshaping the Full-Size SUV Segment

NIO positions the ES9 as a technology-focused executive SUV, combining its latest battery architecture, smart cockpit systems and driver-assistance features under the brand's NIO Adam intelligent driving platform.

The rapid delivery pace signals strong demand for fully electric vehicles in a price bracket where traditional internal-combustion models from Porsche, Mercedes-Benz and BMW have historically dominated.
